Job Overview
TechVerse is seeking a Network Engineer with solid hands-on technical fundamentals to support, operate, and maintain enterprise network environments for customers in KSA. The role focuses on day-to-day network operations, troubleshooting, and support, while offering exposure to multi-vendor technologies and opportunities to learn advanced networking, security, and cloud connectivity concepts.
This role is ideal for engineers with a strong foundation in networking who are eager to grow technically within a professional services and managed support environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide L1 / L2 network support for enterprise customer environments.
Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity using monitoring tools.
Diagnose and resolve network incidents, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and basic security issues.
Perform basic configuration and maintenance of network devices under change management.
Support routing, switching, and wireless infrastructures.
Handle common operational tasks such as:
VLAN creation and assignment
IP address management
Port configuration and troubleshooting
Backup and restore of network device configurations
Support VoIP and unified communications networks (basic level).
Participate in planned network changes, upgrades, and migrations.
Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or vendors.
Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
Ensure compliance with security policies, SLAs, and operational procedures.
Actively learn new networking technologies and tools used by TechVerse projects.
Required Technical Skills
Core Networking Fundamentals
Strong understanding of:
OSI and TCP/IP models
IPv4 addressing and subnetting
Switching concepts (MAC address table, ARP, trunking)
Routing basics (static routing, default routes, basic OSPF concepts)
Knowledge of:
VLANs, STP, EtherChannel
Inter-VLAN routing (basic)
Network Protocols & Services
Hands-on experience with:
DNS, DHCP
NAT & basic WAN connectivity
ICMP, TCP, UDP
Ability to analyze packet flow and identify connectivity issues.
Practical experience with:
HP / Aruba switches
Avaya networking and/or Avaya Voice
Similar enterprise vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.)
Ability to:
Configure basic switch and router settings
Perform firmware upgrades under supervision
Replace and onboard network devices
Wireless Networking
Basic understanding of:
WLAN concepts
Access point configuration
SSIDs, security modes, and coverage basics
Network Security (Basic)
Familiarity with:
Firewalls (basic rule concepts)
ACLs and port security
Network segmentation and security best practices
Understanding of common security threats at a high level.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting Tools
Proficient in using:
ping, traceroute, arp, nslookup
Basic SNMP-based monitoring tools
Experience working with ticketing systems and SLA-driven environments.
Soft Skills & Professional Requirements
Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
Good communication skills (English required; Arabic is a plus).
Ability to work in support and operational shifts, if required.
Willingness to continuously learn and upskill.
Team-oriented with a customer-focused attitude.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Exposure to:
Firewalls and security appliances
VPN technologies (site-to-site, remote access – basic)
Data center networking concepts
Vendor or associate-level certifications:
HP / Aruba
Avaya
Cisco CCNA or equivalent
Familiarity with ITIL processes.
